RoHS – declaration

     rohs-logo1Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment 2002/95/EC also called as Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive -RoHS, took effect on 1 July 2006, and is required to be enforced and become law in each member state. This directive is restricting the use of 6(six) hazardous substances in various types of electrical and electronic equipment, including insulated wires and cable.

     Harazdous substances list:

1. Lead (Pb)
2. Mercury (Hg)
3. Cadmium (Cd)
4. Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+)
5. Poly-brominated biphenyls (PBB)
6. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)

     PBB and PBDE are used as flame retadants in several plastics..

     The maximum concentration level of the hazardous substances are show in the following table: 


Interim Quantity Limit %

  Lead in PVC coating for cable, wire and cords 0.1% (1000 PPM)
  Lead (Pb) other than lead in solder 0.1% (1000 PPM)
  Mercury 0.1% (1000 PPM)
  Hexavalent Chromium 0.1% (1000 PPM)
  Polybrominated Biphenyls  (PBB) 0.1% (1000 PPM)
  Polybrominated Biphenyl Ethers (PBDE) 0.1% (1000 PPM)
  Decabromodiphenyl Ether (Deca-BDE) 0.1% (1000 PPM)
  Cadmium 0.01% (100 PPM)
